This pack outlines everything you need to know when working at Roost.

Building Access

Access hours

Access to the building is between 7:00am and 11:00pm

Front door access instructions

Place your palm over the black plate to wake the lock and show the keypad. Enter your unique access code, followed by the star sign. Turn the handle 90 degrees to the right, to open the door.

Leaving instructions

Please ensure that you close the door fully when you leave to ensure premises security.

HEALTH AND SAFETY

Fire escape routes

In the event of a fire, please leave via the front door and convene in the covered entranceway to the market theatre opposite the front door to the building (as seen in the photo to the left).

Low head room

Please be aware, that due to the age of the building, there are some low door frames where you may need to lower your head. Warning signs are in place in the relevant areas.

Steps

Be aware that there are some steps in doorways and rooms within the building. Please also take extra care as stairs may be slippery when wet.

 

Kitchen

Dishwasher

Please place all used items in the dishwasher before you leave so that they can be cleaned for use the following day.

Tea and coffee station

Tea and coffee is provided. Please ensure you dispose of all teabags and coffee waste in the black bin on the tea making station. Please also wipe up spillages with the cloths provided.

Fridge

Make sure you don’t leave anything in the fridge past its expiry date as it will be disposed of by staff.

Toaster

Take precautions as the appliance is hot when in use.

Microwave

Please use the plate cover provided and ensure you leave the machine in the same state you found it.

Waste

All rubbish to be placed in the corresponding bins in the kitchen and not left on desks.

 

BATHROOMS

Bathroom etiquette

Please do not dispose of any sanitary products down the toilets. Instead, use the dedicated bins provided. Please also leave the toilet in the same state you found it using the loo brushes and air fresheners provided.

Supplies

If you notice supplies in the toilets are low - Please notify either Tim or John.

 

Hot desks

Location

Hot desks are located in the middle office. The desks are numbered but please ask Tim or John if you can’t find your allocated desk.

Etiquette

We ask all users to please wear headphones and use a headset when having virtual meetings to minimise disruption to other people.

Please leave the desks clean and tidy in the same state you found them at the beginning of the day.

 

Permanant desks

Location

Permanent desks are located in the end office. Please ask Tim or John to show you to your allocated desk on your first day.

Etiquette

We ask all users to please wear headphones and use a headset when having virtual meetings to minimise disruption to other people.

As a permanent desk user, you are allowed to keep any hardware eg. computer and monitors on site on the desks. Please dispose of any rubbish and keep the desks in a clean and tidy state at the end of each day.

Meeting booth access

Access to the meeting booth can be booked out through the members area on the website.

Locker access

Please ask either Tim or John to show you which locker is yours, show you how to use it and give you the access code.

 

games room

Etiquette

We ask all users to please make use of all facilities in the games room. Please do not take any films, games or books off site. Please also try to minimise noise whilst using the space, to avoid disruption to other people.
